Boswellia sacra contains: Boswellic acids (anti‑inflammatory). Essential oils contributing to its bright, mint‑citrus aroma. Resin/gum ratios that vary by grade and season. The finest Hojari resins are considered exceptionally fragrant and chemically potent.

 

Red/Amber Hojari is a color‑based grade of Boswellia sacra harvested in the Dhofar region of Oman, the world’s most famous source of high‑quality frankincense. With deep, warm aroma ideal for meditation and ceremonial burning, visually striking reddish‑amber tears, high aromatic potency from Dhofar’s unique climate. Oman sat at the heart of the incense route, exporting frankincense to the Mediterranean, India, and Africa. Ancient ports like Sumhuram thrived on this trade as early as the 3rd century BCE. Frankincense was so valued it was called “liquid gold.”

Frankincense from Oman has been revered for millennia, used in temples, offerings, and sacred rites across the ancient world. Omani frankincense was burned in Egyptian, Greek, Roman, and Arabian ceremonies. Its smoke was believed to carry prayers to the heavens and purify sacred spaces.
