    Copal is an aromatic resin from Bursera and Protium species. It is a subfossilized resin, younger than amber but older than fresh sap.

    Copal Negro is the black variety of Mexican copal, derived from Bursera species native to Mexico and Central America. Its name comes from the Nahuatl word copalli (“incense”).

    Deeply tied to ancestor communication and Día de los Muertos. Represents one of the oldest incense traditions in the Americas.
